New Jersey After 3
New Jersey After 3 is the first statewide, public/private partnership to support the growth and sustainability of high-quality after-school programs across New Jersey. New Jersey After 3’s network of 103 school-based after-school programs expands learning time by almost 50% for more than 14,000 children throughout urban, suburban and rural communities.
The findings of a three-year evaluation of New Jersey After 3, released in April 2009 by Policy Studies Associates, demonstrates statistically significant gains in student achievement as well as impact on behaviors that have been linked to on-time high school graduation rates in national education studies.
Beyond serving as a valued partner to hard-working families and schools statewide, New Jersey After 3 is a powerful and cost-effective lever in the state attorney general’s Safe Streets & Neighborhoods strategies aimed at reducing crime throughout the state.
Recent New Jersey After 3 initiatives that the Edwin Gould Foundation has supported include the Tabula Digita mathematics initiative.
